Abstract

Modern decision-making in intelligent information systems has become increasingly complex due to the growing volume, heterogeneity, and uncertainty of information that organizations must process. Conventional intelligent information systems and traditional decision-support approaches often have limited capabilities in autonomous reasoning, dynamic planning, multi-objective optimization, and adaptation to changing decision environments. The emergence of Agentic AI provides an opportunity to address these limitations through autonomous perception, reasoning, planning, tool use, and action execution. Furthermore, multi-agent collaboration enables complex decision problems to be distributed among specialized agents with complementary capabilities. This study aims to design and evaluate a Multi-Agent-Based Agentic AI architecture for decision-making optimization in intelligent information systems. The study adopts a Design Science Research approach combined with experimental evaluation. The proposed architecture consists of specialized Perception/Data, Analysis, Planning, Optimization, Critic/Validation, and Decision Agents coordinated through an inter-agent communication mechanism and supported by a multi-objective optimization model. The system is evaluated experimentally using decision accuracy, optimization performance, response time, robustness, and comparison with baseline approaches, including rule-based DSS, traditional optimization, single-agent AI, and conventional multi-agent AI. The experimental evaluation is intended to determine whether the proposed architecture provides measurable improvements in decision quality and robustness. Overall, the study demonstrates the potential of Multi-Agent Agentic AI as an approach for complex decision-making by combining specialized reasoning, autonomous planning, collaborative validation, and optimization.
